Double Coat*

For breeds like Huskies, Australian Shepherds, and German Shepherds.

Brush thoroughly weekly, or more depending on the dog. Use a deshed rake to pull out the excess undercoat and prevent matting. Finish with a comb to catch any remaining tangles.

If possible, remove any excess undercoat before getting wet. When wet, brush through with a pin brush, and immediately brush with a slicker brush when dry, otherwise matting can occur.

If your dog has mats you can't brush out, use a de-matting comb to gently pull them out.
